Allan Jury is a retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer, with a long career in the U.S. State Department and United Nations focused on international humanitarian affairs and East Asian regional issues.
His most recent positons have been with the non-governmental organization World Food Program USA. He was Vice President of Public Policy and, since May 2016, has been a consulting Senior Advisor at WFP USA. Mr. Jury previously served twelve years (2001-2013) with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP). He was the Director of WFP's Washington DC Office from September 2008 to March 2013, where he managed the organization's relations with its major partners in the US government and the World Bank headquarters. He also held senior positions at World Food Program headquarters in Rome, Italy as Director of External Relations (2004-2008) and Chief of the Policy Service (2001-2004).
Mr. Jury came to WFP following a twenty-five year career with the U.S. Department of State. He has worked on international humanitarian and refugee affairs since 1987, with leadership positions in Washington, Geneva, and Bangkok. Earlier diplomatic assignments included postings at US Embassies in the Philippines, the Netherlands, and the Indonesia desk in the State Department.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. Jury is a 1975 graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota with a B.A. in political science and Asian studies. He is married and currently living in West Bradenton, Florida.
