Mr Campbell participated as a panelist or moderator on panels associated with national security at the St Petersburg conferences in 2013, 2014, and 2015. He resigned from the CIA in 2004 after a 40 year career, the last 17 in executive level positions. He received the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal and the Donavan Award named in honor of Colonel William Donovan, the Director of the OSS the CIA’s predecessor organization created by President Roosevelt to coordinate the clandestine collection and dissemination of intelligence in Europe and Asia during WWII. After retiring, Mr Campbell worked for several years in the private sector on contracts providing services to CIA and other federal intelligence agencies. He currently serves on the boards of the CIA Retirees Association and the Council on Intelligence Issues. He served in the Infantry Branch of the US Army Reserve as a NCO and Commissioned Officer.
